ETH daily report · 2026-10-23

Report date (Beijing):

The five-day regime remains Transition with a raw multi-anchor score near -0.18; the two-factor reduction review remains active.

Bottom line: ETH remains in a five-day TRANSITION regime. The raw score from verifiable anchors is about -0.18, mapping to hold/watch, while structural health is 0 with incomplete coverage. Valuation and triggers are separate: the October 22 ETHUSD close was below $2,500 and the aligned ETH/BTC ratio was below 0.030, so the two-factor reduction review remains active. This is not an MVRV-only conclusion.

2. Layer 0 regime, structure and sub-zone

RSI(14)43.42
BTCUSD aligned close$81,782.22

Price is above SMA200 while the slope is below -5%; all five sessions from October 18 through 22 classify as TRANSITION. The sub-zone is Weak-Transition: price remains above trend support, but relative strength and the 30-day return are weak. A low MVRV ratio is not a clean buy signal.

Structural health starts at zero. The five-year ETH/BTC percentile is 15.75%, above the <10% penalty threshold. Exact L2-to-L1 capture and burn trend are missing. The CoinMetrics fee-in-ETH proxy is down 12.06% YoY, but it is not a burn rate. Final structural health is 0, incomplete, so it does not increase action size.

3. Multi-anchor valuation

Transition weights are 20% MVRV, 25% real yield, 10% fee yield, 15% ETH/BTC, 10% burn/issuance, 10% L2 capture, 5% network activity, 0% macro and 5% derivatives.

4. Total score and modified action

The raw Transition score is approximately -0.18, in the hold/watch band. Stale MVRV ratio is not MVRV-Z and contributes zero. Missing L2 and exact burn inputs are neutralized rather than fabricated. Structural health is zero but incomplete, so no upgrade applies.

The trigger layer remains separate: the October 22 ETHUSD close of $2,409.83 is below $2,500 and ETH/BTC at 0.029466 is below 0.030. Both reduction-review conditions remain active even though the valuation score says hold/watch.

5. Three independent windows

  • Tactical, 1–4 weeks: RSI 43.42 is not deep oversold, and price plus ETH/BTC remain below the reduction-review lines. Wait for a completed close above $2,500 and relative-strength confirmation.
  • Cyclic, 1–6 months: price above SMA200 conflicts with a deeply negative slope. Fee yield, burn and relative strength have not improved together, leaving hold/watch with an active trigger overlay.
  • Strategic, 6–24 months: the positive staking proxy and active-address level offer limited support. L1 fee capture, exact burn, ETH/BTC and treasury-company dilution remain the main disconfirming risks. Exposure should remain controlled.

6. Hard trigger lines

  • Add review: fresh MVRV ≤1.05 while price holds dynamic SMA200, or a completed close above $2,700 with ETH/BTC >0.032. Neither is confirmed.
  • Reduce review: completed close below $2,500 and ETH/BTC <0.030. Both are currently met.
  • Trend red line: completed close below dynamic SMA200 near $2,155 while slope remains below -5%.
  • Structural red lines: five-year ETH/BTC percentile <10%, negative real yield, L2 capture <2%, or long-duration burn decline >70%. The last two lack exact current data.

7. BMNR mapping and scenarios

BMNR closed October 22 at $22.50, down 6.09% close-to-close and down 3.68% over five sessions. SBET closed at $7.86, down 5.87% in one session and 3.91% over five. Vendor open-to-close changePercent is not used.

BMNR's October 19 disclosure, dated October 18 for holdings, reports 6,041,481 ETH, including 5,067,309 staked ETH, plus 215 BTC, $582m cash and marketable securities, $180m Beast Industries and $74m ORBS. ETH cost basis was not disclosed. The 569,576,806 common-share denominator comes from the latest 10-Q period ending May 31, 2026 and is stale; it does not capture current ATM issuance, preferred stock, debt or potential dilution.

At the completed ETHUSD close, ETH-only NAV is approximately $25.56 per share and disclosed gross assets are approximately $27.06 per share. BMNR trades around 0.88x ETH-only NAV and 0.83x gross-asset NAV. These are not precise liquidation NAV multiples.

ETH scenario0.75x ETH-only NAV/share1.0x1.2x1.0x including disclosed non-ETH gross assets
$2,000$15.91$21.21$25.46$22.71
$2,500$19.89$26.52$31.82$28.02
$3,000$23.87$31.82$38.19$33.32

Key caveats are ATM and preferred dilution, stale share count, persistent treasury-company discounts, ETH/BTC weakness and weak L1 fee capture.

8. Cross-asset context

The five-year ETH/BTC percentile is 15.75%, low but not a five-year low. The live Binance ratio is 0.029463, with OKX and CoinGecko confirming the direction. BTC dominance is DATA_MISSING because no timestamp-aligned authorized source was obtained. All seven FRED series timed out, so the macro composite was not refreshed; fallback context is the FMP 10-year Treasury at 4.96% on October 22 and Yahoo DXY at 101.67 on October 23. Macro has zero Transition weight.

9. Sources, boundaries and conclusion

Primary crypto prices and derivatives come from the Binance ↗ plugin. Five-year USD history and completed equity closes come from FMP ↗. On-chain fields come from CoinMetrics ↗, fees and TVL from DeFiLlama ↗, and holdings from the BMNR SEC disclosure ↗.

MVRV ratio is not MVRV-Z; a company-reported seven-day staking yield is not protocol issuance yield; TVL is not precise L1 capture; gross-asset NAV omits liabilities, tax, operating cost and future dilution. Final judgment: hold/watch on valuation, keep the reduction review active, and cap strategic exposure while structure and ETH/BTC remain weak or incomplete.
