ETH daily report · 2026-10-19

Report date (Beijing):

ETH remains TRANSITION and Weak-Transition. RSI is oversold, but ETH/BTC stays below 0.030 and MVRV is stale; valuation says hold/watch while the trigger layer keeps a small-reduction review active.

Bottom line: live ETHUSDT is about $2,420.74, and the completed October 18 bar closed at $2,410.31. Price remains above its 200-day average, but the average is falling sharply, so ETH stays TRANSITION / Weak-Transition. RSI(14) at 23.54 supports rebound risk, yet ETH/BTC below 0.030, weak fee capture and a stale MVRV snapshot prevent a clean cheap-buy call.

FMP was discovered and called first through its exact MCP namespace. It does not supply the required on-chain, staking, burn, L2 or ETF-flow fields, so those fields follow the mandated fallbacks. Missing is not zero, and stale critical data does not create a complete score.

2. Price regime, structure and sub-zone

BTCUSDT completed close, Oct 18$82,116.00+0.77%-1.98%+1.52%

ETH's 200-day SMA is $2,148.63, its annualized six-month SMA slope is -48.42%, and RSI(14) is 23.54. Price is above the SMA while slope is below -5%; all five latest completed sessions are TRANSITION.

Structural health is -1. ETH/BTC is at the 15.06th five-year percentile, above the <10% penalty. The fee proxy is down 37.57% year over year, triggering the >30% deduction but not the >70% red flag. Missing L2 capture stays neutral. The sub-zone remains Weak-Transition.

The nominal score is -0.15. After neutralizing stale MVRV, the effective score is -0.25, mapped to hold/watch. Missing weights are not redistributed, and the MVRV ratio is not presented as MVRV-Z.

4. Total score and modified action

The valuation layer says hold/watch. The trigger layer is separate: the October 18 completed close still satisfies ETH below $2,500 and ETH/BTC below 0.030, so the framework keeps review a small reduction and pause active adding. Oversold RSI reduces the appeal of chasing downside but does not clear the relative-strength trigger.

5. Three independent horizons

  • Tactical, 1-4 weeks: defensive with rebound risk. RSI is oversold, but funding is slightly above 0.005%/8h and the 3.08 long/short ratio remains crowded.
  • Cyclical, 1-6 months: neutral to weak. Price is above SMA200 while the average falls rapidly; U.S. spot ETH ETFs lost about $320.1m over the latest week and fee yield remains low.
  • Strategic, 6-24 months: conditional hold. Positive real yield and proximity to realized cost offer a cushion; sustained adds need improvement in ETH/BTC, net burn and L1 fee capture.

6. Hard trigger lines

  • Clear reduction review: completed close above $2,500 and ETH/BTC above 0.030, preferably for two days.
  • Review adding: fresh MVRV <=1.05 while price holds SMA200, or ETH above $2,700 with ETH/BTC >0.032; tactical adds also require funding <0.005%/8h, OI <2.35m ETH and long/short <2.0.
  • Trend red line: completed close below dynamic SMA200 near $2,149 while slope remains below -5%.
  • Structural red lines: ETH/BTC below the 10th five-year percentile, negative real yield, L2 capture <2%, or prolonged fee/burn deterioration >70%.

7. BMNR mapping and scenarios

BMNR's latest available close is $21.66 on Oct 16, down 7.28% for the day and 9.86% over five sessions. SBET closed at $7.57, down 7.46% and 11.87%, respectively. The latest official disclosure remains the Oct 13 8-K, with holdings measured Oct 11: 6,028,946 ETH, including 5,067,309 staked ETH, plus 214 BTC, about $612m cash and securities, $180m Beast Industries and $85m ORBS. No verifiable historical ETH cost basis was disclosed.

Using the stale 569,576,806-share denominator sourced to May 31, ETH per share is about 0.010585. At live ETHUSDT, ETH-only NAV is about $25.62/share and disclosed gross-asset NAV about $27.19/share. BMNR is near 0.85x ETH-only NAV or 0.80x gross NAV, before liabilities, taxes, senior claims, execution costs and subsequent ATM dilution.

8. Cross-asset and macro context

CoinGecko observed BTC dominance near 60.12% and ETH near 10.73% on Oct 19. Over 30 days ETH fell 7.73% while BTC gained 1.52%, so relative weakness continues. The FRED CSV group timed out twice; stale prior values are not relabeled as current. FMP DGS10 is 5.09% for Oct 16 and Yahoo DXY is 101.82 for Oct 19. Macro has zero weight in TRANSITION.

9. Sources, gaps and caveats

Binance plugin is the primary price route; FMP supplies USD/equity cross-checks. CoinMetrics is the on-chain source of record, but MVRV is stale critical. DeFiLlama fees do not equal complete L1 capture, and L2Beat TVS is not L1 revenue, so L2_CAPTURE_ESTIMATE remains neutral. Farside direct access returned 403 and was cross-checked through indexed Farside data and CryptoETF.today. BMNR's share denominator is stale. This is a conditional research framework, not an automated trade instruction.
