BTC daily report · 2026-10-24

Report date (Beijing):

BTC remains in a five-day TRANSITION regime; the effective score is -0.14 and fresh chain confirmation is still required.

1. Data health and fallbacks

This report determines the BTC regime before interpreting valuation. The cutoff is approximately 10:54 Beijing time on 2026-10-24. Returns, SMA, slope, Mayer, percentiles and RSI are computed locally from the same completed Binance BTCUSDT / ETHUSDT daily-close series. Live USDT quotes, independent USD cross-checks and the prior completed daily close are kept distinct.

2. BTC regime, sub-zone and price

Price is above the 200-day average, but the slope is below -5%, so the rule returns TRANSITION. All five latest completed days are TRANSITION. The cycle phase is the framework's 24–36 month late-cycle/bear window.

The last five closes are $81,938 → $83,028 → $84,093 → $81,416 → $81,189. Stale MVRV is slightly above 1.5, but price remains above SMA200, so the Hot-Transition condition is not met. There is no Cheap-Transition trend confirmation. The sub-zone is Sideways-Transition.

3. BTC multi-anchor valuation

TRANSITION weights are fixed: MVRV-Z 25%, Mayer 15%, production 10%, NUPL 15%, STH 15%, halving 5%, hash/active addresses 5%, macro 5%, derivatives 5%. The MVRV ratio is explanatory at 0% and never replaces MVRV-Z.

Definitions and timestamps: MVRV = market cap / realized cap; NUPL = 1 - 1/MVRV; MVRV-Z = (market cap - realized cap) / expanding historical market-cap standard deviation. CoinMetrics directly reports the Oct 22 MVRV ratio. The realized-cap endpoint returned 403, so no reconstructed value is presented as a direct observation. Perly/Bitview reports an Oct 23 MVRV-Z proxy but no hourly timestamp; it remains outside the effective score.

CoinMetrics active addresses were 644,858 on Oct 23; the 7D average of 621,636 is below the 30D average of 641,731. Hash rate was about 1.216 ZH/s; 7D average 1.064 ZH/s versus 30D 1.009 ZH/s. mempool.space independently estimated about 1.064 ZH/s. Strong security and weaker usage leave the combined score neutral.

Latest funding is mildly positive, quarterly annualized basis about 5.36%, and taker buy/sell ratio near 1.00. The account long/short ratio at 2.12 is the crowding warning. CryptoETF.today reports a small Oct 23 BTC ETF inflow of about $4.2M, context only.

Macro observations: DFII10 2.64% and DGS10 4.96% on Oct 22; WALCL $6.754T and TGA $0.952T on Oct 21; RRP $0.0002T on Oct 23. Simplified net liquidity is about $5.801T, down roughly 2% over about 90 days. US M2 is $23.343T for August, +0.54% month over month. DXY is 101.752 on Oct 23, +0.46% over roughly 30 sessions. This is US M2; Global M2 remains DATA_MISSING.

4. Total score and regime modifier

If stale/date-only proxies were forced into the model, the mechanical raw score would be about +0.03. Under the health policy, MVRV-Z and stale chain-derived contributions are zero, leaving an effective composite of -0.14. Effective directly interpretable weight coverage is about 45%; missing weight is not renormalized.

-0.14 maps to hold/watch. TRANSITION does not permit an add based only on price above SMA200. The slope is still sharply negative and MVRV-Z is not action-grade fresh. Final action: hold/watch, do not chase; stage action only when fresh chain data, trend and hard triggers agree.

5. Three independent windows

Tactical, 1–4 weeks

Defensive-neutral. RSI is 44.5, the seven-day return is negative and account long crowding has risen to 2.12. Price is still about 11% above SMA200, so there is no immediate bear confirmation. Watch whether $80K forms support; a move toward the value line is a conditional trigger, not an automatic stale-MVRV buy.

Cyclic, 1–6 months

Cautious. Five persistent TRANSITION days are not a new bull regime. The annualized six-month SMA slope is still -27.3%. Cyclic improvement requires slope convergence toward -5%, sustained closes above the recent high, and confirmation from ETF flow, addresses and fresh MVRV-Z.

Strategic, 6–24 months

Retain a core position and stage new capital. MVRV and the MVRV-Z proxy are mid-range rather than bubble or capitulation readings. Long-term holding and short-term non-chasing can both be correct. A $70K–76K retracement would still require fresh valuation and stabilization evidence.

6. Hard trigger lines

  • Trend-add threshold: at least five completed closes above $84,100, with the annualized SMA slope converging to above -5% and no simultaneous overheating in funding, OI and long/short ratio. Not met.
  • Value observation line: about $76,542 (1.05 times SMA200). It requires fresh MVRV-Z/MVRV, stabilization and flow confirmation.
  • Warning line: about $72,898, the dynamic SMA200. Below it with slope below -5% and MVRV above 1.5 is Hot-Transition; no adding.
  • Bear red line: five completed closes below dynamic SMA200 with slope below -5%, switching to BEAR weights.
  • Reduce observation line: about $109,346, Mayer 1.50. Reduction requires concurrent overheating in MVRV-Z, NUPL, ETF demand and derivatives.
  • Data red line: stale chain anchors plus rising leverage and a break below SMA200 means reducing the risk budget first.

7. ETH snapshot

Binance live ETHUSDT is $2,382.96. The Oct 23 completed close is $2,387.60; 1d/7d/30d close returns are -0.06% / -1.48% / -11.07%. CoinGecko ETH/USD is $2,381.06 and FMP ETHUSD $2,380.00, independent USD cross-checks only.

8. MSTR / Strategy mapping

The newest SEC 8-K remains Strategy's 2026-10-19 filing, covering Oct 18: 267 BTC purchased during the week; 848,517 BTC held; aggregate cost $64.02B; average cost $75,446. Strategy sold 140,872 MSTR shares for about $22.0M net and disclosed a $4.83B USD Reserve plus $447.3M USD Cash. No later SEC 8-K updating holdings appeared in the index through Oct 24.

ADSO means assumed diluted shares, not GAAP weighted-average diluted shares. Net common NAV uses approximate debt of $6.75B, preferred claims of $13.96B and dollar assets of $5.277B. Future issuance, repurchases, conversions, dividends and financing change both the denominator and senior claims.

BTC-price to MSTR scenario table

The gross table uses 848,517 BTC / 451.933M ADSO, multiplied by 1.0x, 1.2x and 1.5x. Those multiples explicitly ignore debt, preferreds, dollar assets, software value, tax and future dilution. The net-NAV column separately includes the current estimated dollar assets, debt and preferred claims.

MSTR is below gross BTC NAV/share but above estimated net common NAV after senior claims. “Below 1x gross BTC NAV” is not a risk-free Bitcoin discount.
