Machenta, founded by Imperial College London researchers, secured $40M co-led by Creandum and Union Square Ventures to train robots without real-world data; valuation undisclosed.
London-based robotics startup Machenta has raised a $40 million seed round co-led by Creandum and Union Square Ventures, with valuation undisclosed. Founded by researchers from Imperial College London, the company aims to build an AI model that teaches robots new physical tasks after watching them performed just once. CEO Edward Johns said the model trains entirely in computer-generated environments without using real-world data. The startup has 11 employees and no near-term commercialization plans.
