US ride-hailing and delivery giant Uber disclosed during its third-quarter earnings call on Wednesday that only four rides were booked through an AI agent during its busiest week in October, which coincided with Halloween.

Chief Financial Officer Balaji Krishnamurthy stated that the company handled approximately 320 million trips and orders across Uber and Uber Eats during that week, but only 500 Uber Eats orders were placed by an AI agent.

CEO Dara Khosrowshahi acknowledged that the traction from AI agents is "very, very early and very limited," though he remains bullish on the potential for agents to reach new users.

These figures stand in stark contrast to the growing hype surrounding personal AI agents capable of handling tasks like shopping and booking, suggesting that actual transactional adoption on major consumer platforms remains negligible.
