South Korean Startup QBlack AI Secures Seed Funding for Vision AI Digital Twin Validation Technology

South Korean startup QBlack AI has secured seed funding to develop digital twin technology that addresses the validation challenges of combining vision AI algorithms with camera hardware.

South Korean AI startup QBlack AI announced it has secured seed funding from Partners Lounge and Korea Investment Accelerator. The specific amount was not disclosed. The company has developed a digital twin technology based on a proprietary physics simulation engine, allowing developers to recreate shooting environments and camera hardware in a virtual space to test optimal combinations of cameras and AI algorithms.

Traditionally, optimizing vision AI performance required building physical prototypes for repeated validation, which was time-consuming and costly. QBlack AI's technology uses synthetic data reflecting the physical characteristics of camera hardware to train AI and evaluate algorithm performance across different configurations, aiming to reduce the performance drop often seen when models are deployed on actual devices. The funds will be used for hiring R&D personnel and advancing the simulation technology. Investors noted that as the robotics industry matures, cameras are being evaluated as part of an entire recognition system rather than just single components, making this validation infrastructure critical for product development in the era of 'physical AI'.
