South Korean AI Data Firm 플리토 Reports Record Cumulative Operating Profit for First Three Quarters of 2026
South Korean AI data and translation firm 플리토 reported approximately 10.3 billion KRW in cumulative operating profit for the first three quarters of 2026, surpassing its full-year 2025 total.
South Korean AI data and translation solutions company 플리토 disclosed preliminary financial results for the period through the third quarter on October 20, 2026. According to reports, the company achieved cumulative sales of approximately 31.1 billion KRW and cumulative operating profit of approximately 10.3 billion KRW, marking the highest figures since its inception. This operating profit already exceeds its full-year 2025 operating profit of approximately 6.2 billion KRW, reaching 167.5% of last year's total.
For the third quarter alone, 플리토 recorded sales of approximately 17.8 billion KRW and operating profit of approximately 9.0 billion KRW, resulting in a quarterly operating margin of 50.4%. The company attributed this strong performance primarily to the recognition of large-scale orders supplying AI training data to global tech giants during the quarter, as well as growth in subscriptions for its real-time AI translation solution, "Vogl".
Platum frames the results as a company-specific example: amid widespread skepticism regarding the profitability models behind Big Tech's massive investments in AI, 플리토's significant earnings as a supplier of learning data to model developers provide a concrete commercial example from the upstream data supply segment of the AI value chain.
