Replit Launches Cloud Agents to Let Non-Engineers Submit Tested Pull Requests

Replit releases Cloud Agents, enabling designers and support staff to generate tested PRs with video evidence via natural language, while engineers retain final approval.

AI coding platform Replit announced the launch of Cloud Agents on October 27, 2026, aiming to break down barriers preventing non-technical staff from contributing to core product iterations. Previously, issues identified by designers or support leads—such as spacing errors or confusing settings—often resulted in tickets waiting for sprints, or required engineer assistance because contributors couldn't verify their own changes.

The new Cloud Agents allow any team member to describe desired changes in plain language. The agent locates relevant code, implements secure modifications, and tests them in isolated cloud sandboxes by clicking through the running app like a customer would. If a test fails, the agent fixes the code and retries. The resulting GitHub pull request (PR) or GitLab merge request (MR) includes screenshots and video evidence of the working change for engineer review.

To address environment setup challenges, Replit introduced shared environments. Once an admin configures the environment with repos, runtimes, databases, and credentials, all contributors can start from current main branch code without repeating local setup. Additionally, teams can convert review feedback into 'skills' instructions; after engineer approval, agents automatically follow these guidelines in future tasks, reducing repetitive communication.

The feature is now available for Replit Pro and Enterprise customers. Slack integration is also live, allowing users to mention @Replit in threads to investigate issues or create PRs. Microsoft Teams support is coming soon. Replit reports internal data showing similar workspace memory features reduced token usage by 51% and cut common data task completion time from 16 minutes to 1 minute.
