NVIDIA announced on October 28, 2026, several software updates for its RTX Spark Windows laptop platform, aimed at enhancing local AI capabilities. The updates include the release of the open-weight speech model Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe, support for Liquid AI's LFM3 foundation model family, and new GPU resource management features in the NVIDIA App.

Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe is an open-weight speech model capable of handling transcription, speaker labeling, and translation in a single prompt, supporting 40 languages. NVIDIA states that the model ranks No. 1 on the Hugging Face Open ASR leaderboard and has approximately 4.3 billion active parameters, 80% fewer than the top-ranked open-weight model, making high-quality local transcription more practical.

Additionally, RTX Spark now natively supports Liquid AI's LFM3 model family, a set of text, vision, and audio models built on a shared backbone. NVIDIA reports that the new 1.7-billion-parameter base model outperforms its previous 2.6-billion-parameter version. These models enable local agent workflows such as inbox triage and calendar management.

At the system level, the NVIDIA App introduces new resource management controls, allowing users to allocate GPU compute resources between foreground applications and background-running AI agents. Users can prioritize foreground app performance or provide more resources to background agents to speed up tasks. This feature requires hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling to be enabled in Windows Settings.
