Mubadala Energy CEO Says Firm Seeks to Boost US Investment Footprint
Mubadala Energy's CEO stated the company plans to increase its presence in US oil and gas projects despite the election outcome, highlighting Commonwealth LNG as a key backing.
According to a report by Semafor, Adnan Bu Fateem, CEO of Mubadala Energy, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund, stated that the company aims to increase its investment footprint in the United States despite the outcome of the US presidential election. "If you're an oil company and want to grow your business internationally, you can't exclude the US," Bu Fateem said.
Mubadala Energy is one of the top Gulf-based investors in global oil and gas projects. The company is a key backer of Commonwealth LNG, which was the first new export terminal to reach a final investment decision during US President Donald Trump's second term. Bu Fateem noted that the firm is "really looking" for other new US projects.
This statement reflects a trend among Gulf energy companies turning increasingly to their global portfolios as a source of stability while facing heightened security risks and costs in the region. Earlier reports indicated that regional oilfield services provider NESR tripled its spare equipment inventory due to war-related risks, illustrating the operational pressures faced by firms in the area.
