Microsoft Foundry Extension for Azure Developer CLI Reaches General Availability
The Microsoft Foundry extension for azd is now GA at v1.0, integrating AI agent configuration, local testing, evaluation, and deployment into a single CLI workflow.
On November 5, 2026, Microsoft announced that the Microsoft Foundry extension bundle (microsoft.foundry) for Azure Developer CLI (azd) has reached version 1.0 and is generally available. The extension integrates AI agent configuration, local testing via Agent Inspector, evaluation, and deployment into the azd workflow, allowing developers to manage the full lifecycle of hosted agents without switching tools. Requires azd 1.37.0 or later and an Azure subscription.
