French artificial intelligence company Mistral AI released a demonstration video for its Voxtral Small Transcribe 3 model on October 21, 2026. The video highlights the new speech model's capabilities in multilingual transcription, with the company claiming state-of-the-art performance in identifying different speakers (diarization) and improving accuracy using key phrases (context-biasing).

Beyond basic transcription, Voxtral 3 features end-of-turn detection, allowing it to determine when a user has finished speaking so that AI agents can respond without delay. This capability is crucial for building fluid, real-time conversational systems.

Mistral AI stated that the release includes not just the model but also a new developer kit designed to help developers build agents that can listen, reason, speak, and act in real-time environments. According to official descriptions, the model supports transcription across more than 50 languages and expressive speech generation in over 35 languages and 50+ dialects.

Voxtral 3 is currently available through Mistral AI's EU-hosted API and also supports deployment on developers' own infrastructure. This launch marks a significant step in Mistral AI's expansion of its speech processing product line to support more complex real-time interactive applications.
