Anthropic Plans Nasdaq Listing Under Ticker 'ANT' Amid $80 Billion H1 Losses

Anthropic confirms its IPO plan, revealing $16.3 billion in H1 revenue against over $80 billion in losses, targeting a historic valuation.

US-based AI firm Anthropic revealed further details on its plans to go public on October 26, 2026, positioning itself as the first generative AI giant to list on the stock market. According to TechRadar, the company intends to trade on the Nasdaq exchange under the ticker symbol “ANT.” This move is expected to be one of the largest stock market debuts in history, with a valuation likely exceeding the $1.8 trillion record set by SpaceX earlier this year.

Despite these ambitious plans, Anthropic's financials highlight a massive cash burn. The company reported losses of more than $80.7 billion in the first half of 2026, compared to revenue of $16.3 billion over the same period. Acknowledging the disparity, Anthropic stated it would make investments “that may seem irresponsibly large at first glance” to fully capture the opportunity ahead. “In order to fully capture the opportunity in front of us, we need to invest more aggressively than would a business that operates in a more slowly changing technological regime,” the company said.

As a publicly traded entity, Anthropic will face greater visibility into its finances, including whether it is currently profitable. With much of US economic growth currently driven by AI companies, increased transparency into the finances of one of the world's biggest AI firms could have serious implications for the broader economy. As of the report, Anthropic had not disclosed the number of shares to be released or their price range.
