At the ElevenLabs Summit in Bengaluru, Aeos founder and CEO Varun Mayya shared insights from three years of running an AI avatar. He detailed how to train a voice clone with just one hour of content, regenerate sentences multiple times for tone, and use audio tags for delivery control. At the ElevenLabs Summit in Bengaluru, India, Aeos founder and CEO Varun Mayya reflected on his three-year journey of replacing himself with an AI avatar. As one of ElevenLabs' first customers in India, Mayya initially faced skepticism that audiences would reject synthetic faces. Today, his content generates 30 to 80 million views per month, and YouTube recognized him at Davos in 2025 as one of the world's largest AI avatar creators.

Mayya broke down the specific workflow required to sustain this scale, stressing that it remains a highly manual process. He revealed that training a voice clone takes about an hour of content, followed by topping up the model with recordings of mispronounced words. To achieve the right tone, most sentences are regenerated three or four times. He also uses phonetic respelling for tricky words and directs delivery through audio tags, capitalization, and bold text.

Beyond personal channels, Mayya demonstrated customized solutions built for enterprise clients. These include regional-language cricket content for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team, a personalized WhatsApp trailer campaign for Amazon Prime Video's Mirzapur Season 3 that inserts viewers' names, and AI avatar traffic updates for the Bengaluru traffic police. These cases illustrate how AI avatars have evolved from simple talking heads into deep localized marketing infrastructure.
