Kleon, a South Korean generative AI digital human technology company, announced on October 19 that it has partnered with Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) to launch a pilot project named 'AI Station Staff' at Seoul Station. The initiative utilizes Samsung Electronics' glasses-free 3D display product, 'Spatial Signage', to provide real-time multilingual conversational services to passengers.
According to Kleon, the AI station staff within the screen can understand user questions and conversation context, responding with non-verbal cues such as facial expressions, gaze, and gestures to simulate face-to-face interaction with a human. This functionality combines Kleon's conversational AI technology with Samsung's stereoscopic display hardware.
Beyond the railway scenario, Kleon stated that it recently demonstrated an 'AI Concierge' service in the hotel sector using the same Samsung displays to guide guests on facilities and local tourism. Additionally, the company is evaluating the potential of 'AI Promoter' solutions in retail settings and plans to further promote its interactive AI solutions through Samsung's cloud-based digital signage platform, VXT.
