Developer Daniel Blanco released version 0.8.0 of the DLSS-NR project on October 18, 2026. Initially launched on September 3, 2026, to bring Nvidia's DLSS 5 Neural Rendering technology to AMD Radeon graphics cards, this update expands functionality to include the complete DLSS feature set: DLSS Super Resolution (SR), Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, and the latest 310.9.16 Neural Rendering model.
The mod currently supports AMD RX 9000, 7000, and 6000 series GPUs (corresponding to RDNA 4, 3, and 2 architectures). Users install it via the NeuralHub Mod Loader and enable FSR, DLSS, or XeSS in DirectX 12 games; the mod then injects itself into the upscaling pipeline. The update notes specify integration of the FSR 4.1.1 upscaler to ensure consistency across different game implementations.
According to the developer's self-testing, an RX 9070 XT can achieve playable frame rates of 90-100 FPS at 1080p, with plans to eventually match the performance of an Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti. However, real-world feedback from Reddit users is mixed: some report no performance loss compared to native FSR, while others experience drops ranging from single-digit FPS to as much as 25%. Additionally, due to its low-level API modifications, the mod is incompatible with games using anti-cheat software.
