Salesforce UK announced on October 15, 2026, during its AIforce World Tour event in London, that it would provide free access to Slack Enterprise for students in Higher and Further Education across the United Kingdom. The initiative is delivered through educational institutions that already maintain an active Slack plan with Salesforce, ensuring security and administrative controls are managed by the schools rather than distributed directly to individual students.
Zahra Bahrololoumi, CEO of Salesforce UK, stated that the program addresses a significant skills deficit, noting that 61% of UK workers currently receive no AI training and approximately one million young people are classified as NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training). She argued that embedding enterprise-grade collaboration tools into student life helps them become 'workforce-ready,' as many major employers rely heavily on platforms like Slack for daily operations.
This move is part of Salesforce's broader commitment to invest $6 billion in the UK through 2030. It follows previous initiatives such as the opening of an AI Campus and the Future Trailblazer program for younger demographics. While framed as a social contribution to close the digital divide, the strategy also serves to cultivate early familiarity with the Salesforce ecosystem among future employees.
