On October 14 local time, Morgan Stanley Chief Executive Officer Ted Pick stated that the bank has reached a 'double overweight' position in artificial intelligence infrastructure. 'We've been overweight AI from early on. Given that AI is important not just to our clients but also to us, I would say we are now double overweight,' Pick said.
Regarding industry spending, Pick estimated that current average annual spending on AI infrastructure is approximately $1 trillion. He noted that spending may not accelerate further from this level but could potentially sustain at this scale for another decade. He warned that the momentum of AI spending growth will begin to slow.
Pick emphasized that while supporting the sector, Morgan Stanley closely monitors market conditions, aiming to assess appropriateness when developments outpace market readiness or increase efforts when capital is needed.
