Nvidia has pledged $250 million worth of accelerated computing resources to the United Kingdom over the next five years to fund AI security and agentic safety research.
The commitment provides $50 million in annual compute access, primarily supporting the wider UK AI safety community, with specific allocations to BOLD (University of Oxford), SOFAIR (UCL), and Imperial College London. The initiative aims to strengthen safeguards for increasingly powerful AI systems.
Compute access will be delivered through UK-based Nvidia Cloud Partners, supporting domestic research infrastructure. Jensen Huang stated that AI capability and safety must advance together, positioning this donation as a vote of confidence in British scientific rigor.
