UK-based edtech startup Sainaptic has announced a £1 million funding round co-led by Cornerstone VC and Ufi Ventures, with participation from Elm Venture Partners and Brighteye Ventures.
The capital will support the expansion of its AI-assisted assessment marking technology into quality assurance, analytics, and personalized assessments, while growing its engineering, product, and sales teams.
Sainaptic also revealed a new partnership with assessment management software provider Skilltech Solutions. The collaboration aims to integrate Sainaptic's AI models with Skilltech's platform for UK apprenticeship assessment organizations, with the joint solution expected to be available in the first quarter of 2027.
According to Tech.eu, Sainaptic reports that its AI models reduce marking times for some qualifications from 45 minutes to eight seconds, potentially saving up to £150,000 annually, with less than 1% deviation from expert assessors. These performance metrics are company-reported and have not been independently verified.
