AMD has introduced Helion, an open rack architecture designed for agentic AI workloads, targeting hyperscale and enterprise customers. The blueprint supports CPU-led racks for agent execution and all-in-one configurations combining CPU and GPU inference.
Key specifications include up to 32,768 CPU cores in a single rack configuration using 6th Gen EPYC processors. AMD states that Helion configurations are currently under development with ecosystem partners and are planned to be available in November 2026. The company intends to contribute the specification to the Open Compute Project (OCP).
