Robotics and physical AI startups secured a record $18.6bn in new funding during the second quarter of 2026.
This surge was driven primarily by three massive rounds: Anduril Industries ($5bn), NEURA Robotics ($1.4bn), and Physical Intelligence ($1bn). Together, these three companies accounted for 39.8% of the total. Excluding these mega-deals, investment totaled $11.2bn, representing a more modest quarterly rise of 9.9%.
While capital flows toward platform startups, established automation businesses like Symbotic saw revenue grow 22% year-on-year. Conversely, venture funding for logistics and warehousing robotics fell 68% from the previous quarter, highlighting a divergence where investors bet on long-term platforms while customers buy technologies with measurable returns today.
