Amazon Web Services announced on September 29 that Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, a fully managed platform for deploying and operating AI agents, is now generally available in the China (Beijing) and China (Ningxia) regions.
The platform addresses infrastructure challenges in building AI agents by providing six core capabilities: runtime, gateway, identity management, browser tools, code interpreter, and observability. It supports any large model and framework through a serverless architecture with hardware-level virtualization isolation, facilitating secure migration from development to production.
Previously, domestic enterprises often had to combine multiple cloud services or rely on cross-border connections for similar functionality. The localization of AgentCore offers a compliant, nearby deployment option for industries with strict regulatory requirements, though specific performance metrics remain subject to customer validation.
