TileLang officially adds Huawei Ascend support, filling a key gap in the domestic kernel ecosystem
The open-source kernel language TileLang announced native Ascend 950 support the same day, lowering kernel development barriers on domestic chips; real performance remains unverified.

TileLang announced on its official repository on September 30 that it now officially supports Huawei Ascend 950 NPUs, with native code generation and automatic scheduling.
TileLang is the open-source kernel development language led by DeepSeek, built on the Apache TVM compiler and used to write core large-model operators. It previously offered official support for NVIDIA CUDA, AMD ROCm and Apple Metal; Ascend was not on the official list.
Leiphone reports that five companion libraries, including DeepGEMM and DeepEP, also shipped Ascend versions the same day, but that claim does not appear in the TileLang repository's announcement and remains unconfirmed. Backend support does not mean parity with CUDA; actual kernel efficiency still needs benchmark data.
