Trump says AI will be renamed “super intelligence” — so far only a speech claim
At the UN, Trump announced US documents will call AI “super intelligence”; no formal document yet backs the change.

Speaking at the UN General Assembly on September 22, Donald Trump said the US is “officially” renaming artificial intelligence to “super intelligence” (SI), arguing the word “artificial” makes intelligence sound fake.
He said that “from this point forward, all of the United States documents” will use the new term, but presented no executive order or formal document, and conceded “maybe I do, and maybe I don’t” have the power. No agency process currently confirms the change has taken effect.
In the same speech he said the Department of Justice would watch the technology closely but that the US would “encourage it, not rein it in.” The naming claim itself carries no binding force; the thing to watch is whether a formal document follows.
