DoubleAI, an artificial intelligence model developer based in Tel Aviv, Israel, officially AA-I Technologies Ltd., announced on October 19, 2026, that it has raised $200 million in Series A funding. The round was co-led by Lightspeed and Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from Nvidia Corp. and Dell Technologies Inc. According to CTech, the investment values doubleAI at more than $1 billion.
DoubleAI has developed an AI model called Maxwell, designed to automatically optimize software code for greater efficiency. Unlike traditional methods that modify source code, Maxwell applies optimizations directly to a program's binary files, reducing hardware usage and enabling real-time adjustments to applications in production. The company states that Maxwell rewrote parts of Nvidia's open-source cuGraph library, speeding up 55% of its algorithms by a factor of two or more. Additionally, the model optimized the performance of the pandas data science toolkit and recently broke a nearly 50-year-old chess record.
The Wall Street Journal reported that doubleAI plans to use half of the new funding to purchase 1,000 Nvidia B300 Blackwell graphics cards. This move aims to bolster its compute capacity to compete with rivals like OpenAI and Anthropic, whose latest models also demonstrate capabilities in automating research tasks.
